Available Technical Staff Posts

Age Limit and Pay Scale

As per IIT Robar rules, the age limit for these posts is not specified. The senior technical officer (IT) post is at Level 12 with pay of ₹ 78800 – 209200, while the technical officer post is at Grade 10 with pay of ₹ 56100 – 177500. The junior technical supervisor’s salary level is 06, with pay of ₹ 35400 – 112400. The senior lab assistant post is at pay grade 05 with pay of ₹ 29200 – 92300, and the junior lab assistant post is at salary level 03 with pay of ₹ 21700 – 69100.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for each post are as follows:

Senior Technical Officer (IT): Candidates must have an M.Tech degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks and six years of experience. They can also have a postgraduate degree in Computer Science/IT, Computer Applications, or an equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks in qualification as per 7th CPC Level-11 out of 10 degrees or an equivalent degree from a recognized university with years of relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology Engineering (four years) or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 55% marks and 13 years of relevant experience is also acceptable.

Technical Officer: Candidates must have a degree in M. Tech Metallurgical & Materials/Instrumentation or equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks and two years of experience. They can also have a Master’s degree in Science (Physics/Chemistry/Instrumentation) or an equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks and four years of relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree (four years) in Metallurgy & Materials/Mechanics/Instrumentation or equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks and five years of experience working in advanced equipment with marks is also acceptable.

Junior Technical Supervisor: Candidates must have a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 55% marks and one year of experience. They can also have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (four years) or an equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks in the eligible degree and two years of relevant experience. Three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (after 10+2) with 03 years relevant experience with minimum 55% marks is also acceptable.

Senior Laboratory Assistant: Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks. They can also have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or five years of experience with at least 55% marks in equivalent qualifying degree or a three years diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (after 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) with minimum 55% marks in qualifying degree with 07 years of experience.

Junior Laboratory Assistant: Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks Qualification Degree (OR) in Mechanical Engg in B.Tech/BE or equivalent with at least 55% marks. They can also have a bachelor’s degree in Science or an equivalent degree with at least 55% marks and two years of relevant experience. A three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) with at least 55% marks and three years of relevant experience is also acceptable.

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for these posts will consist of a writing test, trade test, and presentation/interview.
