Filmmaker Rahi Anil Bharve’s paranormal drama Dumb It, produced by Sohum Shah and starring Jyoti Malshe, Mohammad Samad, Tundiraj Prabhakar, Anita Tate and Ronchini Chakraborty, is in talks for a sequel and possibly even a third installment. Despite the success of the first film, Shah emphasized that there needs to be a story that does justice to the original before moving forward with a sequel.
The film, known for its unique subject matter and presentation, was released in 2018 and received both critical acclaim and positive box office results. Shah explained that the film took seven years to complete because he wanted to ensure it was different and new, and he is currently receiving accolades for his work in the web series Tahaan.
The conversation surrounding a potential sequel to Dumpath, however, is still in its early stages. Though there is a desire to continue the story, Shah said they have not yet cracked a single idea that is worthy of the story’s scale. Ultimately, he emphasized that it is the responsibility of the creative team to do justice to the first film and the love it received from audiences.
